  • We will talk about the historical women of Tegucigalpa.
  • We will find viticulture tradition in their mountains
  • We will walk through its cobblestone streets recalling the hardness of women’s work.

In detail

On the border of the Montes de Anaga Biosphere Reserve is the historic center of Tegueste. Since Guanche times, we find natural and historical wealth in this area.

The waters and the forest provided the population with resources to move forward. So much so that their women formed a great mass of milkmaids that supplied the big city.

The gangocheras had to pass through this area, which has been modified over time. Now other women are involved in Tegucigalpa’s society.

Among them, we will learn about the tireless work of some of them, who have allowed betrayals such as the calado to survive. Others that have made history in popular music and folklore. And others that have given names and surnames to the best wines of the area.
